The pageant was based on who sold the most raffle tickets this year, in the end, Lillian sold the most and was named Miss Chinatown. During the coronation, there was a little mishap when the crown was placed upside-down on Lillian's head.
Lillian represented the Chinese community during Seafair. The Miss Seafair pageant was won by Miss Ballard, Carol June Christensen. During the Seafair celebrations, Lillian schooled King Neptune V, Irving Stanton Smith on how to use chopsticks at the Twin Dragons Cafe in Chinatown. Smith wowed everyone on his chopsticks skills when he ate the entire banquet with them including bird's nest soup. Lillian sat with the Seafair Queen and her court during the Great Chinese Dragon parade through Chinatown.
