After being named the Chinese Community Queen, Lilyan competed with the Nisei Queen Elaine Sakai, the Filipino Queen Rosemary Blancas and the African-american Queen Joanne Squires for the International Center Queen title. Lilyan went on to win and reigned over the International Festival segment of Seafair with a parade through "International Center" which is bound by Yesler Way and Dearborn and 4th and 14th Avenues.
International Center is also known as Chinatown or in the present as the "I.D." which is short for International District.

Lilyan Mar, Chinatown Queen competed with the Queens of the Japanese, Filipino and African-american communites for the title of International Festival Queen.
