The first pageant was held as part of the Seafair celebrations.  1950 marked the first year that a Miss Seafair pageant was held and included contestants from different communities and districts in the greater Seattle area.
 
Miss Chinese Community or "Miss Chinatown" reigns over the Chinatown parade segment of Seafair along with the Japanese, Filipino and African-american queens.

INAUGURAL QUEEN


Ruby Huey, Queen of Chinatown represented
the Chinese community during the International
Carnival in the Jackson street business area, which
is a part of the Seafair celebrations.
