Miss Astro Chinese International 2018 was crowned on September 23rd.
The theme for this year was "Girl Power". In the end contestant #5
Jovane Phang was the big winner, also sweeping all the subsidiary
awards. Jovane is 22, stands 1.69m tall and will represent Malaysia
(as Miss Kuala Lumpur) at Miss Chinese International 2019 in Hong Kong.

Miss Chinese 2018 was crowned on August 26th at 1AM at the Mohegan Sun.
23 year-old Gina Wu was crowned Miss Chinese 2018.
Gina is 5'6" tall and was born and raised in Guangdong, China.
She will represent New York at the 2019 Miss Chinese International pageant, hoping to make it a three-peat for New York.
Special performance was by former Miss Hong Kong Top 4 Mandy Wong.

Miss Chinatown Philippines Marie Que is 23 and stands 5'4" tall and will represent Phillipines at the 2019 Miss Chinese International Pageant in Hong Kong.

Miss Friendship was named during a swimsuit presentation:
she is #8 Claudia Chan.

The contestants each performed a talent in hopes of clinching the Audience Popularity Award.
In the end a top 3 was selected: #5 Krystl Kung, #6 Olivia To and #15 Tania Chan.
There was a tie for first place between #5 Krystl who performed a
samba dance and #15 Tania who performed a ribbon (rhythmic gymnastics) routine.



The pageant will be held on August 26th.
This year there are 20 contestants and will go through several eliminations during pageant night.
The field will narrowd down to 12, then 5, then the Top 3 which the audience
and viewers will determine the placement through voting on the bigbigfun App.

Miss Chinatown Houston was crowned on Saturday July 21st at the Royal Sonesta Hotel. In the end contestant #6 Karen Yen took top honors and will be Houston's representative at the 2019 Miss Chinatown USA pageant.

Miss Dragon 2018 crowned


Miss Dragon (Tahiti) was crowned on Saturday June 2nd in Papeete. This is
the second try for Morgane who also competed a couple years ago.
Morgane will represent Tahiti at the 2019 Miss Chinese International Pageant.
1st Princess went to Cindy Lau and 2nd Princess is Herenui Yu.

(姐姐李萬晴是2010年的冠軍)

MISS CHINATOWN USA 2018 RESULTS
Jasmine Lee of San Francisco walks away with the title and becomes
the 2nd of her family to win the Miss Chinatown USA title.
Her older sister Crystal Lee was Miss Chinatown USA 2010
(and also 1st Runner-up at Miss America).



There is the old Chinese addage "Good Things Comes In Pairs/Doubles".
Not only are the Lee sisters winners of Miss Chinatown USA,
Janet Chen who placed as 2nd Princess (who is Miss Chinatown Houston 2017)
is the younger sister of Connie Chen (Miss Chinatown Houston 2007) and
4th Princess of Miss Chinatown USA 2008.

The Pageant took place on February 22nd at the Herbst Theatre in San Francisco.
This year's theme is "A New Generation of Beauty".
Several things were new this year:
New venue, new production team and new crowns.
It was emceed by veteran host Julia Tung and was joined
this year by Betty Hsu and Jeff Locker.
Special guests included former Miss Universe Riyo Mori who helped
with the crowning of Miss Chinese Chamber of Commerce. Jasmine will represent
San Francisco at the 2019 Miss Chinese International pageant.
Tomorrow night is the Coronation Ball
where Miss Congeniality will be awarded.

Miss San Francisco Elisa Santos wins the first award of the pageant -
"Live Audience Most Liked Performance Award" (which is essentially Miss Talent).
She won by performing a pole dance, the same talent she performed
at Miss Chinatown USA in which she also won Miss Talent.
The 15 contestants’ performances ranged from dancing to singing
to playing musical instruments. Rounding out the Top 3 were
Miss Melbourne Sabrina Shi who performed an ethnic dance
and Miss Tahiti Linda Chung who performed a belly dance.
Miss Toronto did not attend the event.

On a side note, a couple days ago, the contestants competed in a speed makeup challenge
sponsored by Colourmix Makeup. The winner of that challenge was
Miss Foshan Arrixy Li. The other 3 that made it to the final round were
Miss Los Angeles Angela Liu, Miss New York Rose Li and Miss Sydney Summer Meng.
Arrixy took home a deluxe prize package from Colourmix containing many makeup products.

Miss Hong Kong is good friends with Miss Hawaii, who happens
to be the Miss Congeniality winner at Miss Hawaii Chinese.
She has a good chance at winning the Miss Friendship award this year.
On a sidenote: the last time Hawaii competed at Miss Chinese International
in 2002, Marjorie Wu took home the Miss Friendship award.

The 16 contestants for Miss Chinese International 2018 met the media
for the first time at a press conference in Tsim Sha Tsui.
Early media favorites include New York's Rose Li who was dubbed
Eliza Sam lookalike, and Vancouver's Cheryl Ng who is dubbed
Linda Chung lookalike. Laos makes it's debut this year (probably following
it's success at international pageants last year). Hawaii and Tahiti
returns to the pageant after several years. Auckland and Bangkok is not represented
this year. Miss Vancouver was lucky enough to be drawn for the practice crowning.
