The event was hosted by 賈詩洋 and Miss Chinese Montreal 2008 Rosalinda Lorigiano who is the older sister of the reigning Miss Chinese Montreal Lucia Lorigiano. The winner Jia Li during the self-introduction said that ever since she was little she has been interested in the performing arts and hopes that if she wins that it would give her opportunities to travel to China and Hong Kong to have a try in the entertainment field.
For the second year in a row, Mila Xu won the Miss Friendship award. #6 Crystal Han who entered and withdrew 2 years before, withdrew again this year before the final.
Here are the stats for the Top 3:
Jia Li - 24 years old, 1.68m tall, 110 lbs, measures 32"-24"-32", chinese origin is Kaiping, Guangdong, immigrated to Canada at the age of 9, is currently a student studying nursing. She speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, English and French.
Miranda Chan - 20 years old, 1.61m tall, 96 lbs, measures 32"-24"-32", is the only contestant this year born in Canada, is a student at Dawson College studying dance and can speak Cantonese, English, French and a little bit of Mandarin. She is related to the very first Miss Chinese Montreal Judy Woo (1985). (Is it a coincidence that the 1st runner-up from 2007 Jessica Chan has a similar Chinese name 陳彩怡 , could it be that they are sisters?).
Anna Wong - 19 years old, 1.67m tall, 48 kgs, measures 31.5"-24.5"-34.5", from Qingdao, immigrated to Canada at the age of 5 and can speak Mandarin, English and French and is studying administrative management. Anna is actually from Vancouver but is currently studying in Montreal.
*Jia Li will represent Montreal at the 2015 Miss Chinese International pageant in Hong Kong.
