The contest in it's second year had to be the most uncompetitve year.  Also, it's the year where the contestants have a bigger chance of winning than ever.  The contest started out well with 18 girls entering the competition, but who would've known that once the contest officially started that only 4 of the girls would show up! To avoid embarrassment the organizers snagged 2 girls from the area to join the contest.  So in the end there were 6 contestants competing.  The judges, consisting of Hong Kong and overseas people, totaled to 12, doubling the amount of the contestants!!  This is the fewest number of entries ever.  The contest at the time didn't seem to arouse enough interest for girls.
The contest was again very simple.  The girls wore swimsuits and along to the music paraded around the poolside and turned twice in front of the judges. In the end, the cute and petite Ng Dan-Fung won. 1st Runner-up was Annie Chan, and the 2nd Runner-up ended in a tie between Chu Lai-Ying and Bak Lai-Lin.
Ng Dan-Fung was born and raised in HK.  She had just turned 20 when she won the title.  Her interests include music and swimming and her ambition is to become a singer.  She didn't start acting until 1950.  She did numerous films and was well known for her portrayal of Snow White, thus people called her Snow White Ng Dan-Fung.
