The 1989 pageant attracted 87 applicants only which 12 of them would be named Finalists. Among the Finalists 4 are Portuguese/Chinese mixed. The favorite for the crown Mina Pedruco did not dissapoint and walked away with the crown along with the Miss Photogenic award. She would represent Macau at Miss Chinese International where she finished as 2nd Runner-up (which is still Macau's best placement at the pageant to date). Mina also competed at Miss World but was unplaced. In an interview, it was said that Mina was said to be on the Finalists list but in the end they gave the spot to Miss Thailand instead. Mina, the eldest of the 4 Pedruco sisters would be the 1st of 4 winners for Miss Macau.
Mina stands 5'8" tall, measurements: 36"-25.5"-34.5"
